Washer Dog ears.
The information you have regarding Whirlpool agitator problems could not be stated better. It really cleared up the problem I had with taking the upper part off. I only needed to replace the dog ears. Who wooulda thunk that's all it took. Thank you so much for the expert advice. Makes me feel as if I am somewhat useful. I'm bookmarking your page. It's the best I saw on the subject.

Thanks so much! This was a great help. Although I did have a very, very hard time taking the top half off. The top would not budge, no matter how hard I tried. Finally, frustrated and mad I used a hammer and it finally came apart! Wee... everything from there on was as easy as pie.

Go figure
Through a female's eyes in repairing a "cam" on anything seems very labor intensive. Once I read your article I ran downstairs and was done in 3-4 minutes, if that.

OUTSTANDING ADVICE
As Gomer Pyle would have said, "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you." I saved a 50-dollar service call by dismantling the agitator and taking it to the appliance company in Munford (Tennessee). Directions and exploded pictures were wonderful. Had it in and out in minutes. Advice was "right on!!"
