No water getting to ice maker

The water inlet valve is the control device that allows water to enter the ice maker. It is energized during the last 5-8 seconds of the harvest cycle. During this 5 to 8 second period, there should be 110v across the two wires connected to the valve . If there is power supplied to the valve and the valve does not open to allow water to flow, the valve is defective.

However, if power is being supplied to the valve and water will flow through it freely, it could be that the water supply line or inlet tube have frozen solid.  These lines can be thawed with warm water or a hair dryer.

Ice maker repair
Very helpful, I utilized the suggested hair dryer to unfreeze the unit in about 10 minutes. Prior to finding this help I was carefully chipping at the ice buildup for over an hour. The blockage had resulted from a poorly loaded freezer that had the ice output area blocked. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!

Ice maker not getting water
I wish I had found this site about 4 days ago, before I paid out $95 to have a company come out and tell me that the valve was bad and that they didn't have the part and they had to come back out next week to fix this. You can bet this site is now booked marked on both the computers.
